Sitting on the porch © 2017 Pyramid Musik Words and music by Alice Brown Well I’m sitting on my porch Watching the days go by Just sit and drink my coffee Nobody stops to say hello They all walk by, head bowed They’re all glued to their cellphone screens They’re all glued to their cellphone screens Worked for the company for years Then one day, they say there closed Out on the street, again No chance of getting another job No chance of getting another job So now I sit on my porch Watching the sun rise and set Not much else I can do There’s no work in this town There’s no work in this town So I’ll sit here alone Letting my mind take its course I’m feeling so very sad if only someone would say hello If only someone would say hello Maybe it’s time to pack my bags and Move to another town Maybe there’ll be some work don’t know, if it’s worth the chance don’t know, if it’s worth the chance Well I took the chance and moved out of there got a new job, in the new town The day’s aren’t grey anymore The day’s aren’t grey anymore Well I still sit on my porch watchin’ the evenings go by Love to sit here and drink my coffee With the smiling faces of friends all around me With the smiling faces of friends all around me

Chorus Life is crazy Life is cruel But it leaves you Always wantin more Life is crazy Life is cruel But it leaves you Always wantin more More, more, more More, more, more All I want to say Is all I wanna do To take the way The other people do Never content, or happy always looking far away Never looking at what’s there Staring at you, everyday, every day Chorus Innocence, faith and desire Can leave you battered Leaving you scared Learn from it, and move on and move on You’re blind, myopic It’s out there just reach out Touching what is real No empty space, out there out there, out there Chorus repeat till end

Sitting quietly in the afternoon Words and music by Alice Brown © 2017 Pyramid Musik Sitting quietly in the afternoon Watching the clouds currying by Carried on a wind, blowing them along To where nobody knows Sitting here, as the sun comes and goes Warm then a chill sweeps over Blinking like a pedestrian crossing Or a hard drive working overtime Chorus It is nice to sit Putting the mind in neutral Just to sit and observe Uninterrupted by the modern world It is nice to sit The birds sing and chirp Scamper across the grass Flutter and catch their lunch Then the kids arrive fluttering their wings Bees buzz, flying this way and that Lands and take off again, not this one, Ah that ‘s much better Nectar the food of life Chorus Inside the phone rings and rings The mobile chirps its incessant call Look at me, look at me Not this afternoon, not today The modern world may try its best To intrude on this quiet day Just shut your ears to its din Open your eyes to what’s around Chorus Commune with nature, listen and learn Take back this part, that you have lost It’s the way, get your clock back in sync Not beholden to a glaring screen Repeat Verse 1

(c) 2019 Alice Brown/Martin Stephenson Going down the bayou, those giant catfish are calling me Down the buffalo bayou, those giant catfish are calling me With my fishing pole, gonna set my inner hunter free With the soul of a hunter, those swamp ass beasts could never hide from me Chorus Through those catfish blues, the worlds gonna know the truth I'll never hunt that catfish again Through those catfish blues, broken pole to sodden shoes I'll never hunt that catfish again Repeat Verse 1 Chorus

Star in the sky © 2017 Pyramid Musik Words and music by Alice Brown There is a star high in the sky It has been there for billions of years I wonder if it sees us the same As a star high in the sky Light takes so long to get here The star might not exist We’re looking at history here We’re looking at history here Chorus Shall we reach our goal Does it really exist Or is it now just Is it a super black hole where that star used to be One day I would like to fly to that star I know it will take a long, time One day I know this will happen One day I know this will happen To travel to the stars, is only one way Watching as our home fades away Time to sleep, sleep, sleep Time to sleep, sleep, sleep Chorus What will we find, when we reach that star People like us, living, day to day Or will our illusions be cruelly crushed (speak last three words) Or will our illusions be cruelly crushed We won’t know till we take that step Out in to the great unknown void Travelling through, interstellar dust (speak) We won’t know till, we take that step (speak) Chorus

Only the story © 2018 Pyramid Musik, words and music by Alice Brown Myths and legends, Tales and lies Build up over the years Embellishments, exaggerations↑ Create the story, the enigma There is a kernel, of the truth Surrounded by the passage of time As time, writes, the story↑ Of who you were↑ Chorus It might be true There again it can be A complete pack of lies The passage of time, smooths it all A complete pack of lies the Oral tradition, spoken true Written tradition, written lies What is false and what is true?↑ Who knows, only the story survives the Story is all that survives Nothing else, stands the test of time People come and people fade away↓ Only the story still survives↓ Only the story, survives ↑ Chorus Repeat Verse 1

Dreams 04:15
Dreams © 2011/2017 Pyramid Musik Words and music by Alice Brown Dreams are the portent, of the future Telling you, what, you should know Beware of what, they tell you All looks real, but it’s not reality mixed with fantasy Don’t not to fall into the traps they’ve set Chorus Dreams can be misleading Misplaced reality Interpretation, is the key Frozen in time Wandering alone, in an ever changing landscape Some friendly faces, some are not Fear and trepidation, seem to rule what you see Running through a maze, dazzled by the headlights Hunted and haunted Then all at once, all is well Sipping wine Chorus Reality of a new day Leaves the dream waif-like Disappearing, as the new day dawns Flashes, glimpses of the night before Prick the edges, of your mind Fragments tantalisingly close Why can’t we grab, these fragments? Chorus Repeat Verse 1

Going home 03:53
Going Home © 2017 Pyramid Musik Words and music by Alice Brown Stuck in this non discript room, waiting for my plane Been here such a long long time, the clocks going so slow My phone is running out of power, my laptop has died I wanna go home, i wanna go home The information board tells you nothing, the people are just walls Then they tell you to go to the gate, but don’t tell you which one Then you sit for another while, as the plane isn’t here I wanna go home, can i go home Get on the plane and listen to the noise Bump down the runway, wait for the wheels to come up We’re underway now, try and get some sleep I wanna go home, i’m on my way home Next thing i know is the screech of the tyres, as we land Come to a stop then the mayhem begins, get of eventually It nice to be back, but its not for long I’m going home, i’m going home Fish out the car keys, and pay for the parking Wander out to the car, and start the engine The sense of relief washes over me I’m on my way home, i’m on my way home Pull in the driveway, and kill the engine I’m feeling really tired , throw my bags through the door Open a bottle, sit back and relax It’s good to be back home, good to be back home It’s nice to be back home, even for a little while All i know is that, i’ll have to this all over again Better make the most of, the time i have at home I wanna stay home, wanna stay at home
